Isabell Werth is the world’s most successful Dressage
rider and has the unique honour of having represented Germany
at four Olympic Games, and won team and individual medals at
each.
Her Olympic medal haul commenced at the Barcelona Games of 1992,
where she won a team gold and individual silver. She went one
better in Atlanta in 1996, winning Olympic team and individual
gold. This was followed with team gold and individual silver
medals at the Sydney Games in 2000 and the Beijing Games of 2008.
As well as Olympic glory, Isabell has tasted success at the FEI
World, European and German Championships; she has been World
Champion since 1994.
A qualified lawyer, Isabell started her dressage career aged
17 and now runs a training stable with 22 loose boxed in her
home town of Rheinberg.
Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing
Rolex created the Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing in 2001.
This trophy is awarded to the rider who wins the Rolex Kentucky
Three-Day Event, the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials
and the Land Rover Burghley events in any consecutive order.
Until now, only one British horsewoman, Pippa Funnell, has
managed this staggering achievement winning the title in
2003.
