“It was meant for me to be here. It was a step on my life path. I need the healing and I want to share the energy with people, animals/wild life, and Mother Earth. I would like to become a Reiki Master. Thank you, Anna

Alex Eaton, Golden, CO – Nov 08

“I feel like I have been attuned to something I am looking forward to using. This has been a long awaited experience that I will treasure and grow with. Thank you for the new frequency.”

Diana Bailey-Tudor, Golden, CO – Nov 08

“To be surrounded by the light of healing, the attunements were so fantastic. In the last one when I went to “the book” I asked if I had been a healer before and failed. The answer was “yes” I was a healer before but this time you are ready and prepared and protected with the Reiki energy – Both days were like a spiritual initiation. Thank you for the many blessings.”

Julia Mitchell, Ossining, NY – July 08

Reiki - the most popular healing art in the world, says Anna Twinney.

Reiki, translated from Japanese as “Universal Life Force” is quickly becoming one of the most popular alternative healing modalities in the world. Already used in clinics, private practices and hospitals around the globe, people are waking up to the amazing benefits that Reiki can provide.

Developed as a healing art in early 20th century Japan, Reiki is a holistic, non-invasive technique that heals on all levels of body, mind and spirit. In addition it can enhance other modalities of healing, both traditional and alternative, alleviate pain and has been proven to reduce stress in both humans and animals.

This unique style of energy healing can:

  • Alleviate stress, fears, worry and frustrations
  • Assist the body in cleansing different types of toxins
  • Help people break unwanted habits or conditions like smoking, overeating and alcoholism
  • Work on anything from your pets, house plants and even your computer!

One of Reiki’s most effective uses is on the healing of horses.
“Horses, and animals in general, are great for energy work because they don’t have any preconceived notions or scepticism that often get in the way of human receptivity. An animal is simply present to the experience. If it likes it, it likes it and if it doesn’t it leaves: Simple as that,” says Anna Twinney, an internationally respected Animal Communicator Equine Specialist, Natural Horesemanship Clinician and Reiki Master.

Anna has featured on TV, national and international magazines and travels the world educating people and horses working in the horse’s own language. Anna TwinneyAs the founder of the Reach Out to Horses programme, she remains on the cutting-edge of genuine, gentle communication techniques with all our planetary companions.
“We have found that most horses love Reiki. They will quite often relax into the healing session, lower their heads, keeping a leg cocked in a relaxed position and even close their eyes as they enjoy the sensation. Many times you can even hear their stomachs gurgle as the healing energy flows through them, clearing energy blocks as it goes. And when they have had enough, they will often let you know by “waking up” and sometimes even walking away.”

Anna Twinney, her life with horses.

Anna’s early love of horses bloomed through her relationship with her own childhood horse as she grew up in Germany’s countryside.

Anna Twinney reaches out to horses“Ringo showed me unconditional love and how to explore my imagination through play. We went swimming together during the heat of summer and he pulled numerous slays for my friends and I to enjoy the winter wonder land” says Twinney.

Upon her return to Rutland, UK Anna was re-introduced to horses through her Palomino Carrie, a Thoroughbred Irish Draught mare. She and Carrie entered competitions, including show jumping, long distance riding, and cross-country jumping. Assistance at local riding schools with trail rides and remedial horses became a regular activity.

“Carrie played an important role on my new path. Influenced by the challenges she presented I sought gentle horsemanship techniques.”

Twinney continues: “I dedicated my first DVD to my horses asking for their forgiveness in my ignorance”.

Anna began her exploration of natural horsemanship as a participant in Monty Roberts’ studies at “Flag Is Up Farms in California.

Following a year’s sabbatical from her job as a police officer in England Anna left an eight-year career with the constabulary and moved to the US to pursue her real dream – helping horses and their people to grow in partnership.

Anna Twinney reaches out to horsesFor Anna the horses, but especially the wild Mustangs, became a university of learning. After extensive studies into the "Language of Equus" she became an integral part of the research and development team for the Monty Roberts International Learning Center (MRILC).

Twinney says: “With just a suitcase in hand, I left my family, home, horse and dog behind, to follow my heart and dreams. The Farm became my home and I dedicated 24 hours a day to learning all I could from the horses. It became one of the most challenging times of my life, but also one of the most rewarding.”

Qualified as one of the first 6 instructors throughout the world, Anna was the only person ever to be entrusted with the title of Head Instructor at the MRILC, while also a member of the MRIA Board of Directors.

Anna was the originator of several Monty Robert’s courses. She supervised and wrote the standard exams for both introductory and instructor classes and has been instrumental in graduating many instructors worldwide.

Beyond her own equine training and experience, Anna has explored a plethora of “alternative” healing modalities over the years, including becoming a certified Reiki Master and Reconnective Healing® Level III practitioner. She has studied Equine Herbal Natural Remedies and Aromatherapy and most recently graduated as a certified animal communicator.

Anna TwinneyOne of Anna's great passions is the survival and protection of untouched horses, and she has been privileged to observe brumbies in their natural habitat in Victoria, Australia.

She also assisted at a wild horse sanctuary where she was part of the education programme and played a significant role in gentling mustangs for special care and foster homes.

Her interest in the “Language of Equus” has led her to focus increasingly on the power of animal communication to strengthen and deepen our relationships with all species. “The horses showed me that their language goes beyond the whisper, it includes energy and inter-species communication”, says Twinney. “Now is the time to take Natural Horsemanship to a deeper level”.

Anna Twinney reaches out to horsesToday Anna is proud to travel the globe and spread her knowledge. She has conducted clinics, classes and training sessions in Australia, Canada, Europe and through-out the United States.

Twinney shares: “My dream is to take the Reach Out to Horses® programme to Third World countries, to make a difference in the lives of the working horses and people that are unable to travel to the U.S.”

Anna’s work has been featured on TV, including a segment on Martha Stewart and a BBC fly on the wall documentary. You can watch episodes of Anna’s methods on the Horse TV Channel throughout the United States.
