Government tries to give Bob Milton the brush-off

But he's not having it !

On November 11 Bob Milton wrote to the Government Office for the South East about the A3 Trunk Road (Lea Coach Road Junction, Near Thursley) {Prohibition of Use of Gaps in the Central Reservation) Order.

He has just received back a letter from David Cooper, Head of Transport, virtually brushing his comments aside and telling him that any information he wanted he could obtain under the Freedom of Information Act.

Bob MiltonBob Milton said No.

He told David Cooper, "Your letter has treated my request under the EIR 2004 rather than a precursor to a judicial review. I do not intend to pay for any information as I believe your interpretation to be misguided. Never the less I will clarify the request hoping that you will respond in a positive and helpful manner.

"This an interesting situation as you refused to discuss the matter when tabled at the last Highway Agency NMU stakeholder meeting in July which you attended on behalf of GOSE.

"Anyway as per your request for clarification the requested information which I hope you will produce is that which the Secretary of State relied on in making his decision and would rely on at a judicial review which in this case specifically deals with the crossing of the A3 at the Lea Coach junction by non motorised users seeking to cross between BW 68 and BW 115 and from one part of CL144 to the other as well as accessing CL95 which is contiguous."

You tell 'em, Bob.
