Sportives on bridleways.

It is illegal to run any form of cycle race on bridleways

Says Bob MiltonUK events run 39 sportives across the country sponsored by Wiggle of which 9 are purely on bridleways.

It is illegal to run any form of cycle race on bridleways and that definition covers mass starts and individual time trials.

The British Cycling Federation guidance on sportives states that any form of published timing or prizes makes such an event illegal. UK events time all the participants and give awards for meeting certain times [gold silver and bronze].

This is then a race and is illegal.
