Hartlebury Common

"There is not a local authority in the land that is not illegally claiming some bit of land or common as their own?"

Says Steve McCarron. Worcestershire Commons Association

Hartlebury Common is a Rural common which is NOT owned by Worcestershire County Council. They are not on their own in claiming as such. ie, Padworth common and Berkshire County Council. In fact, there is not a local authority in the land that is not illegally claiming some bit of land or common as their own.

Odd then, that THE common factor in all of this is none of them can show ownership. When I say ownership, I mean the sort of provenance that would stand up to scrutiny by an unbiased judge.

Some people might say, what does it matter, all this fencing and cattle and tree felling (10,000 hectares to date)

The pictures show how some of our money is being spent at Hartlebury Common.

If it happened on some bought land, albeit financed by us to the tune of £800 million per year, we might not mind so much. However, the land chosen for these works is our PUBLIC open spaces and our HERITAGE.

We have been conditioned to accept the loss of these things as if it is of no consequence. However, this heritage belongs to us and is the last great physical heritage that the people of this country own.

The laws that are in place to make sure that this heritage is perpetuated have been criminally subverted for financial gain.

The welfare of the common is of little consequence to the council who regard all our open spaces as income streams.

We funded this work to add insult to injury. The quango, Un-Natural England is the clearing house for the cash after it has been laundered in Europe from the uk.

The same blue print, Fence, Cattle, tree felling. Fence Cattle tree felling at hundreds of public sites in the UK. Coincidence? The pictures show how some of our money is being spent at Hartlebury Common.

Where are the successes so far?

I am told by the newly created Worcestershire Wildlife Trust (sycophants and consultants to WCC) that success for heather germination can take up to twenty, thirty, forty, fifty years. Nice work if you can get it!!

I pine for a more sensible approach to saving our forests
