The BHS and Maureen Comber

How the BHS treats somebody who has been a loyal, dedicated and hard-working member for over 50 years.

DAY 20

It is now 20 days since the BHS shamefully dismissed Maureen Comber after more than 50-years of dedicated and hard-working service.

Maureen ComberStill no regret.

Still no sympathy.

Still no apology.

How long can the BHS continue to behave in this disgraceful manner?

Other hard-working BHS members and volunteers beware. This is obviously the way you are going to be treated one day.

"It is so hard to express the frustration, anger, concern and disappointment felt at the treatment of Maureen"

Says Steve Yandall

Says Steve YandallIt is so hard to express the frustration, anger, concern and disappointment being felt as a consequence of the treatment of Maureen. She is someone I know to be true to her conscience and unwavering in her efforts to resolve issues of both a practical and political nature and therein lies the problem.

The discomforting of the powerful DOES NOT result in a "thank you,we will resolve the matter" ,as it should do ,but does result in determined, wonderful people, like Maureen, being isolated and removed. From politicians down accountability has been 'factored out' of the bureucratic web and those that find issues of direct accountability are denied a platform on which to progress and resolve problems. Whether it be Owen Paterson lobbying Europe NOT to cap elite payments at £350k(thus maintaining his fellow ministers Benyon estates £2m--which Richard Benyon wants to be kept a secret via law).

Whether it be the usurping/avoidance of Common Land law that is being challenged by Tony Barnett

Whether it be the failure to comply with our European Treaty obligation to comply with the precautionary principle thus impacting on public health.

Whether it be billions spent on conservation (as a placebo) whilst nature continues in full retreat under overwheming commercial pressure(HS2 etc). We should all be concerned as these are just four of hundreds of examples that reflect the state of UK democracy

Sadly the treatment of Maureen Comber appears to be the norm--unless YOU create pressure and demand the change that is so over due !

Says Linda Wright

Says Linda WrightWe moved to a Shropshire location a year ago having surveyed the local OS map and noted the significant number of bridleways around the property. Sadly the map appears a total fiction. Scarce any of the bridleways are usable ........... read more
