Says Naomi Smith

Says Naomi SmithIt is all too possible to round a corner on horseback and come upon a group of cattle with no prior warning -this WILL result in a horse being badly spooked at best, bolting at worst -it is only a matter of time ........... read more

How the BHS treats somebody who has been a loyal,
dedicated and hard-working member for over 50 years.

Because Maureen Comber was such a strong, independent representative of BHS members, Hampshire County Council arbitrarily refused to listen to her. They simply refused to do business with her. They ex-communicated her.

There was no debate, no discussion and, amazingly in a democratic society, no opportunity to appeal.

What did the BHS do?

Did they fight to protect their representative?

Did they strongly object to the action taken by the Council?

Did they appeal for independent arbitration to sort out the situation?

NO. NO. NO.

Not a single one of the BHS Officers supported her.

Not a single Trustee supported her.

Not even a single member of the staff supported her.

THE BHS BACKED HAMPSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

WORSE STILL, THE BHS HAMPSHIRE COMMITTEE BLINDLY FOLLOWED INSTRUCTIONS FROM BHS HEAD OFFICE

They dismissed Maureen Comber without any acknowledgement of the time she had devoted to the BHS for over 50-years.

They didn't even bother to thank her.

The proof.

Here are the minutes of the July meeting of the BHS Hampshire Committee which starkly reveals their attitude.

Other hard-working BHS members and volunteers beware.
This is obviously the way you are going to be treated one day

Comments Maureen Comber

"It is the BHS image that concerns me. "

Comments Maureen Comber

Comments Maureen ComberIf they are not prepared to back their volunteers I would ask what sort of image that portrays?

Their current position described by one of my contacts as akin to a wet lettuce has brought us to where we are. Councils who are not performing their statutory duties Quangos who are breaking the law Cyclists who do not give way Councils who are changing the surfaces of bridleways for the benefit of cyclists Cycle racing on bridleways without notification Minor roads with a national speed limit of 60 mph No support for the 'quiet lanes scheme' Is it any wonder that members are so concerned.

The BHS should listen its subscribers and react to them rather than worry about their image.

That will look after itself if BHS are seen to do the 'right thing'.

BHS Hampshire Committee Report 11/7/14

"Your last page complains about police force's lack of skills, isn't that teapot calling kettle black?, on the law's of rights of access, insurance and dedication to members of BHS, you are more than lacking "

Says Tony Barnett

Says Tony BarnettLooking at page two I notice that each and everyone is addressed with capital letters, in the first window action by "MC" to prepare a report on activities by directions from "HM", The Queen? HM, has also offered to help MC, first dictate, then help.

There is a lot of identification by capitol letters BK, R&R, DF, if this is a secret society where is KKK?

Secrete agent BK's topic is about an accident at Wickham common "on a permissive path" where a land owner has no remit to keep clear for access, may I ask what investigation was undertaken as to examining of ownership/freehold status of the land documents, also as BHS would need to apply to PINS to carryout works on common land, then it would need full disclosure from "an owner" and to gain access to pre-registration of title deeds to pre-date 1189 to prove ownership.

It is also noticed that funding is to be used for clearing the land, there is a number of dangerous moves here, evidence to the claim to pins must be disclosed to escape false representation and from mortgage fraud by using the land as collateral to gain funding, all in all, you haven't got a clue what you are doing apart from misleading people when taking fees, there is also the fact, that access to common land is choice, therefore no insurance cover is available for accident, private insurance is the only way.

Third page, the faceless one's at BHS, that decided against fighting closure of rights now order the sacked CABO to look after country lanes, none of you have more rights to complain about the Queens highway than any member of the public, therefore you cannot order this unless you support this role by public liability and to erect safety notices and have the consent from the highways and the police.

Alice Holt, this land is Forestry land, which is common land, has ancient rights of way, bridle paths and public footpaths that can be traced back to 1189, they are not regulated and most were not registered under the 1925 LPA as freehold.

your last page complains about police force's lack of skills, isn't that teapot calling kettle black?, on the law's of rights of access, insurance and dedication to members of BHS, you are more than lacking

Says Linda Wright

Says Linda WrightWe moved to a Shropshire location a year ago having surveyed the local OS map and noted the significant number of bridleways around the property. Sadly the map appears a total fiction. Scarce any of the bridleways are usable ........... read more
