How long does it take for a local Council
to answer a letter from one of its local residents?
Answer: EIGHT MONTHS
And then only because they receive a letter from the local MP telling them to do so..
In February Maureen Comber wrote to Hampshire County Council about Broxhill Common.
Again and again, she asked them why she had not yet received a reply
Finally EIGHT MONTHS latter she wrote to her local MP, Damien Hinds, pleading for help
Damien Hinds wrote to Hampshire County Council
And - Surprise. Surprise - within days Maureen Comber received a reply from Judith Downing, Head of Information Compliance, Hampshire County Council.
But unbelievably for a Council, which is suposed to represent the interests of its residents, they told her not to contact them again over the matter even though their reply
- was completely wrong in every thing they said and
- refused to come clean and correct the false claims they had been making.
Maureen Comber wrote to Damien Hinds thanking him for his support.
"As they are blatantly wrong in all they say and in fact are continuing to mislead over their crime and false representation, I am unable to help them put the matter right"

Subject: Fw: Complaint against Hampshire County Council
Dear Damian,
I have just received the email below and the attached letter. I am assuming that I have to thank you for it.
Well done and thank you again. It has only taken eight plus months to get this reply.
You will see that I am warned not to contact HCC again over this matter. As they are blatantly wrong in all they say and in fact are continuing to mislead over their crime and false representation, I am unable to help them put the matter right
Please advise what I should do now?
There is still the complaint about Cradle Lane which has not yet been dealt with.
Again I am most grateful to you.
As Ever
Maureen
