What is the purpose of the conservation charities claiming all of this money in grants?
Where does all the money go if they are so money hungry?

The Rural Payments Agency wrote to Bob MiltonHaving read the content of your website I was wondering what do horse riders and their representatives (BHS) contribute to the conservation of the British countryside?

As I consider myself a horse rider, rambler and mountain biker I have experience of the latter two organisations actively promoting and engaging their members in conservation activities such as the repair of tracks and bridleways and clearing of vegetation.

The BHS or 'Horsey Talk' seem not to offer any such avenue for its readers to get out there and make a difference to the countryside they claim so much right to.

I would also like to know what is the purpose of the conservation charities claiming all of this money in grants? As far as I can tell their employees don't get paid on a bonus scheme, they have no shareholders to pay dividends to and a quick google search shows that the wages they pay the staff are 'modest'. So where does all the money go if they are so money hungry?

I pine for a more sensible approach to saving our forests
