What do you mean 'becoming' an elitest organisation - as far as I'm concerned it has been for the last thirty years!

I joined the Berkshire region committee for a few meetings back in the late 80's but packed it in because, whilst they were all very charming volunteers, they were as far removed from non competitive owners at DIY / Grass livery as is physically possible. Their idea of doing their own horse was in the luxury of their own grounds, and not slumming it in the urban edge/horsiculture DIY yards.

Most people I know think Bronze membership is an expensive subscription to four magazines and very little else. I'm surprised the Charities Commission allow discrimination against different levels of members with regards to voting or standing, that would suggest they are discriminating on grounds of income, which is surely rather naughty? Or have they changed their charity status?

A BHS TRUSTEE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE STRATEGIC DIRECTION FOR THE SOCIETY, WHICH IS WHAT, PERHAPS ONE MIGHT BE ENLIGHTENED.

A BHS TRUSTEE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSUING THE OBJECTIVES OF THE SOCIETY, MY UNDERSTANDING OF THE OBJECTIVES IS TO SAFE GUARD THE RIGHTS OF PASSAGE FOR THEIR MEMBERS TO ALL OPEN ACCESS LANDS, TO PREVENT ACCESS LANDS FROM BEING TAKEN OVER BY LOCAL COUNCILS AND "CONSERVATIONIST", TO DEFEND MEMBERS THAT ARE TAKING ACTION THROUGH THE COURTS TO CHALLENGE THOSE THAT ARE HELL BENT ON TAKING AWAY THOSE RIGHTS, TO DEFENDING THEIR MEMBERS THAT HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO COURT FOR LAWFULLY REMOVING UNLAWFUL IMPEDIMENTS.

TO SEEK COMPENSATION FOR INJURY CAUSED TO HORSE AND RIDERS OCCASIONED BY UNLAWFUL CONSTRUCTIONS, TO CHALLENGE THE MOD THAT WISH TO RESTRICT ACCESS TO COMMON LAND.

HOW ABOUT INVITING THOSE THAT HAVE CHALLENGED, AND BEEN SUCCESFUL IN OBTAINING THOSE OBJECTIVES?

INVITE THROUGH THE BALLOT BOX THOSE THAT KNOW THROUGH EXPERIENCE THE RIGHTS TO ACCESS COMMON AND OTHER OPEN LANDS FOR AIR AND EXERCISE AND ARE THERE FOR THE RIGHT REASONS AND NOT FOR A STATUS SYMBOL, BUT LEAVE ME OUT OF THE INVITATIONS.
